In a huge week for Australian Technology Park’s (ATP) Conference Centre, an extensive wireless internet upgrade will be switched on at the Centre in Sydney at the same time as ATP is on show at the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) in Melbourne.
ATP’s new WiFi infrastructure, launching this week, adds to the existing range of high-tech support for the Conference Centre’s mulit-purpose venues, from high-speed optic fiber enabling limitless network configurations to the latest video conferencing equipment and much more.
ATP partnered with Xirrus, the world’s leading provider of wireless networks, to roll out new WiFi capable of handling the intense real-time demands of the thousands of visitors who attend ATP events each day. ATP Director of Sales and Marketing Ruby Chronis says the Conference Centre’s WiFi can now cater for more than 5,000 concurrent users across the entire site.
“In ATP’s Exhibition Hall, for instance, the network can quickly scale up from supporting 2,000 concurrent users to 4,000 concurrent users – providing security and certainty for public events featuring a sudden surge in attendees,” Ms Chronis adds.
Xirrus’ unique network architecture scales without impacting performance, and doesn’t need any additional wiring or access points; it’s designed to evolve with changes in WiFi technology and standards.
