Neil, Grant, Elissa and Samantha each bring unique skills and experience to MCEC which will ensure we continue to create lasting memories and deliver memorable events for Melbourne.
The familiar faces of Prue Rogers and Paul Rumble have also taken on Senior Manager roles in Customer Experience and Technology Services respectively, rounding out a talented team that is committed to ensuring your event is a success, every time.
Neil Mather, Senior Manager Food and Beverage
Neil joins MCEC following a successful tenure as Director of Food and Beverage at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, managing the Food and Beverage department.
Neil has also worked with iconic Melbourne venues including Zoos Victoria, Melbourne Arts Centre and the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Neil will oversee MCEC’s food and beverage operation including catering, retail and the culinary team, and will work closely with our Executive Chef, Peter Haycroft to drive MCEC’s award-winning food and beverage offering. His commitment to fresh, sustainable, locally sourced produce proved to be a natural fit with MCEC’s food philosophy and award-winning kitchen team.
Grant Padula, Senior Manager Operations
Grant has worked in the Operations field for over 17 years, and has extensive experience involving large integrated resorts and in the hospitality industry.
He recently played a key role in the opening of the new Melco Crown Entertainment Studio City Casino in Macau, and previously worked for many years with Crown Resorts in Melbourne. His experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments makes him an ideal fit for MCEC.
Grant will work closely with Chief Operating Officer, Leighton Wood.
Elissa Duke, Planning Manager
Elissa brings over 10 years’ experience in event management to MCEC. Joining MCEC from Diversified Communications, Elissa has a wealth of knowledge across all aspects of event planning and execution.
Elissa will lead our high-performing Planning team and drive a culture of excellence to ensure we continue to deliver creative and innovative events.
Samantha Kent, Business Development Manager
Samantha joins our Customer Experience and Optimisation team in the newly created position of Business Development Manager.
Samantha will work closely with new customers to showcase MCEC’s multi-functional spaces and personalised approach.
With many years’ experience in business development and events, Samantha has worked in the UK and New Zealand across hotels and stadiums. This new and exciting role will support MCEC’s upcoming expansion and ensure we continue to lead the way in an ever-changing, competitive meetings and events industry.
Samantha joins MCEC from Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.
