The Star, an avid supporter of the meetings and events industry was the sponsor of the 7th Annual Associations Forum National Conference Welcome Drinks. The national conference held just last week, 25 – 26 July at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, played host to a range of networking opportunities as well as professional development sessions.
Surrounded by passionate, inspiring people, the team who attended the conference shared the potential of event spaces at The Star. For example, the association, Meetings & Events Australia recently held their board meeting in the BLACK by Ezard private dining room; it was the functionality and flexibility of the spaces that had the audience of Associations Forum captivated.
With the upcoming opening of The Star’s 1000m²+ Event Centre, in early 2013, Amanda Lovett, Business Development Manager and Kathryn Fleming, Sales Manager – MICE, from The Star shared the opportunity for conference delegates to register for hard hat tours of the Events Centre, taking place towards the end of 2012.
These exclusive tours provide the opportunity to experience the functional design and intelligent event spaces on offer that up until now have been reserved for viewing via artist’s impressions and animated virtual tours.
“We were able to share with associations the unlimited possibilities that The Star has for events large or small. Sharing ways that other associations have taken advantage of the unique space was well received, stimulating discussion and promotion the value of events for associations.
“The Star has held strong relationships with a range of associations for a number of years through their attendance at events within The Star or the close by Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. Showcasing the increasing number of options for events has helped us continue to strengthen our connection to the industry,” said Ms Lovett.
Some event partners who are already taking advantage of the unique spaces within The Star include The Stockbrokers Association, The International Association for Lung Cancer, The Royal Association of Psychiatry and the Property Council Association of Australia, all of whom have booked events at the venue throughout 2013.
