Audio visual production specialists AV1 turned an industry on its head this week at the Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) National Conference in Darwin, taking out the award for Technical & Creative Production against year-on-year finalists Staging Connections QLD, VIC and WA.
Accepting the award on Tuesday 7 May at Darwin Convention Centre dressed in 1940s attire, Keith Wootton Managing Director said, “We are very, very proud of ourselves to have come this far.”
“AV is an interesting game. We love doing it. We love making it work. So that by the time you walk in at 9, it’s spot on. It’s perfect.”
In eight short but very busy years, AV1 has built a reputation as a leading provider of audio visual production services to events and venues throughout Australia, specialising in conferences, award nights, gala dinners, launches and roadshows.
“What started as me with my laptop and mobile phone, is now a company of over 80 full time and casual employees with offices in Sydney and Melbourne. It just proves that big things can come from small beginnings, particularly when you have a great team of people who love what they do.” Keith said.
“We are really pleased to receive this accolade from our industry peers. We’ve worked very hard to get to this position and this award will only strengthen our commitment to our customers and the industry.”
“We plan to be here again next year, but we also know that to achieve that, we have to continue to push boundaries,” Keith said.
AV1 is based in Sydney and Melbourne but operates throughout Australia and overseas. This is the second MEA national award for AV1.
“The AV1 team will continue to collaborate with clients, venues and suppliers in our industry to produce amazing events,” said Keith.
