Bronwen Largier joined the Melbourne Convention Bureau Hosted Buyer cocktail event at Old Melbourne Goal as a first time AIME attendee.
The AIME Hosted Buyer cocktail event was a simple but pleasing introduction to AIME for two important stakeholder groups (buyers and media).
The weather was perfect for the outdoor setting beginning with drinks and canapes in the courtyard of the Gaol before the group moved inside one of the cell blocks to explore the at times gruesome history of the place.
Putting aside the slightly strange idea of using our criminal history as a showpiece in an attempt to convince visitors to bring their events and incentives to our convict shores, the cells and the accompanying stories of those who once inhabited them did create interesting talking points for attendees.
The event’s caters Showtime Event Group, who have just announced a major push into the catering space, demonstrated they had what it takes and their dessert feature table was a great visual piece of branding (and delicious too).
The entertainment was simple and clean – a single singer, accompanied by a keyboard – adding another layer to the old-world charm of the evening without overwhelming the networking opportunity.
