Alison Petrie has been appointed Managing Director at EECW, Western Australia’s leading conference and event management organisation. Ms Petrie joins EECW after 3 ½ years as Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (WA). In this role, she successfully steered IPAA (WA) from a six-figure loss to achieving a healthy financial surplus and a re-invigorated, dynamic relationship with its stakeholders.
Ms Petrie’s association with the professional conference and event management sector stretches back 25 years having previously established and grown successful businesses in the PCO space. She has also held senior management and leadership roles with the Starwood Hotel Group and Globetrotter Corporate Travel.
EECW has recently experienced a period of significant growth marked by the opening of a Melbourne Office in August of this year. Ms Petrie will provide leadership in strategy, business development, administration and technology development in steering EECW forward and deepening their national presence.
