The crowning jewel in the multi-million dollar transformation The Star has recently undergone, the $100 million multi-purpose Event Centre aims to fill a gap in Sydney’s entertainment and convention market by being the largest of any hotel event space in Sydney.

Encased in a glass structure created by architects Fitzpatrick & Partners and designed as a flexible environment to engage event attendees, The Star Event Centre has the capacity of up to 4000. With 1077m2 of column free event space featuring retractable seating, it has the capability to host all types of events including domestic and international meetings, seminars, trade shows and exhibitions, functions, gala dinners, award ceremonies and special events.
The venue’s flexibility to host multiple styles of events is complemented by cutting edge technology and production facilities designed by Sceno Plus, a world renowned company responsible for The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.
With its close proximity to Sydney’s CBD and harbour side location, the Event Centre is supported by a number of impressive transport links, connecting it with Sydney Airport and the rest of the city and surrounds by public transport and the use of The Star’s own private wharf.
Director of Culinary, Andy North is at the helm of the newly fitted out advanced kitchens within the venue. Recognising that large events are often fraught with slow food and beverage service the Event Centre kitchens were designed to increase the efficiency of service, without compromising on the restaurant quality food across all event types.
The Event Centre is supported by The Star, which boasts five-star accommodation across three hotel towers including the luxuriously boutique, The Darling Hotel and Spa, the five star business hotel Astral Towers and the 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartment style Astral Residences.
