arinex, Australia’s premier Destination Management organisation has been appointed to manage major program components for the Lions Club International Convention being held in Sydney this week.
In 2009 arinex were initially appointed to manage day tours and pre and post tour programs for Convention delegates; however they have now been contracted to manage many of the major services, logistics and events for the Convention.
Never before has Lions Club contracted one supplier to manage so many facets of their event, so the appointment of arinex to manage multiple services is a first for the organisation and a testament to the trust that Lions International have in arinex.
The many components of logistic management that arinex are undertaking include:
• On-ground transport to shuttle 15,000+ delegates around Sydney for 5 days including airport transfers, transport to the major street parade and various special events.
• Management of the Board of Directors 4 day Program and District Governors Program, which includes themeing and entertainment for a number of special dinners being held during the Convention at the Sydney Showground’s, Opera House and on Harbor cruises.
• A Spouse Program which includes major Sydney tourist attractions and site visits for major projects and initiatives related to Lions Australia such as the Cancer Research Centre at Randwick Children’s Hospital, the Children’s Mobility Centre and an Aboriginal Heritage tour.
arinex has also worked closely with Universities and Organisations to recruit over 100 temporary staff to manage the ground logistics and on site support required for the 5 day Convention.
arinex Managing Director, Ms Roslyn McLeod is proud of the relationship arinex has formed w?th L?ons Club International: “We have worked w?th Lions Club for some t?me now and their faith in our ability to deliver is demonstrated in their awarding us these additional contracts” she said. “Having managed many conventions of similar dimensions and complexities, we are totally confident that the Lions Convention will be an unparalled success” Ms McLeod continued.
The Lions Club International Convention brings together members and their families from over 100 countries with a diverse mix of languages and backgrounds and provides them with an opportunity to unite for five days of business, fellowship and fun. Already, the event is expected to attract around 15,000 members including partners.
