The Australian Centre for Event Management (ACEM) has been announced winner of the Best Education Program category in the Australian Event Awards – the Australian Event Industry’s ‘night of nights’.
ACEM was established at the University of Technology, Sydney in 1999 after extensive collaboration with Australian Event Industry. Since this time ACEM has gone on to deliver its executive development programs, workshops and seminars in multiple Australian locations across Australia and internationally – London, Edinburgh, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Taipei, Shanghai and Auckland.
“It is a great honour for the Australian Centre of Event Management to be recognised in the prestigious Australian Event Awards. We faced stiff competition from our fellow finalists.
“To receive this award in the presence of distinguished leaders and innovators of the events industry is humbling. It was a fantastic night, and we are honoured to have been acknowledged,” said Rob Harris, Director, Australian Centre for Event Management.
Over 4000 people have benefited from participation in ACEM’s short courses worldwide.
To provide support for the Australian events industry, ACEM has developed an extensive free online resource site. This provides studies, reports, event manuals and numerous other resources associated with the creation and delivery of events. Additionally ACEM has worked to create, in association with the Carbon Reduction Institute, a free online event carbon calculator for event managers.
Emerging out of ACEM’s programs has been UTS’s Masters and undergraduate courses in event management, as well as the globally recognized text Festival & Special Event Management.
