The Australian Event Symposium, on again in 2015, is currently accepting proposals for presenters to explore the theme Events, Tourism and Destination Branding.
The eventful, touristic theme will be split into four streams throughout the two day Symposium: Sporting Event Tourism, Business Event Tourism, Cultural Event Tourism and Event Tourism in Regional Australia.
Presenters are being sought for the second day of the Symposium and are invited to put forward case studies, panel sessions and other presentations addressing the issues and opportunities pertinent to the intersection and overlap of these two vital Australian industries.
Proposals can be submitted through the Symposium website which also has more information about the submission process. Accepted presenters will be offered a special registration rate if they wish to attend the rest of the Symposium. Proposals for the Symposium must be submitted by 20 July 2015.
The first day of the Symposium will be a day of plenary sessions with a key industry figure focussing on each of the four streams and culminating in the 2015 National Events Address looking at the nationwide state of the events industry with respect to its connections to tourism.
Presented by the Australian Event Awards, the Symposium will take place on 17 and 18 November to coincide with Industry Night of Nights as event professionals come together from all over Australia to recognise and celebrate the best work in the industry over the last year.
Symposium registrations are opening soon. Each Symposium registration will also grant the delegate $50 off a single Event Awards ticket.
The Australian Event Awards are currently open for entries from events and industry players vying for the awards which place them at the top of the events business.
