Leading audiovisual service provider AVPartners has appointed Ben Hamblin as Technical Director at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC).
A graduate from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Music Technology, Mr Hamblin was previously the Project Manager at PCEC for AVPartners.
Since joining the company in 2011, Mr Hamblin has gained considerable experience including working on some of Perth’s largest events, for instance the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), Perth Telethon, Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games functions, St John Ambulance National Conference and several Perth Wildcats MVP Balls.
AVPartners Partner for PCEC, Ryan Taylor said, “Ben is a talented technician who has built an impressive career at PCEC. AVPartners has a strong focus on developing and promoting staff from within and we’re really proud to help people like Ben succeed.”
“Ben is exceedingly capable and has a willingness to pass on his knowledge to junior staff members. He has gained a formidable reputation at PCEC with many return clients specifically asking for Ben to work on their events,” added Mr Taylor.
Regarding his appointment, Mr Hamblin said, “I love the excitement that comes with the events industry and working at PCEC every day brings something new. I’m thrilled to move into the role of Technical Director and continue to deliver amazing, first class events.”
In July AVPartners extended its five year relationship with Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre and was reappointed as the in-house audiovisual partner as well as winning the rigging contract for the Centre’s Exhibition Pavilions.
