Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics are the proud winners of the Bronze Jupiter and the Best Soundtrack Award at the prestigious Montreal International Fireworks Competition and are now taking the show to International Arts & Music Festivals around the world.
The Australian team conceptualized, produced and presented a spectacular 30 minute pyromusical titled ‘Colours of Kakadu’ which featured an amazing live performance from Australia’s leading high energy, didgeridoo and drum performance group eMDee.
This unique concept of dazzling pyrotechnics synchronized to Darwin band eMDee who performed live on a floating stage in the La Ronde lake, was a huge risk to take but has turned out to be a very rewarding and memorable one for the audience that enjoyed the show.
The huge crowd were cheering, clapping and tapping their feet from the opening scene of the show and as the display concluded with an enormous grand finale they were all on their feet giving the performance a standing ovation.
Andrew Howard, Director says “Receiving the standing ovation, the amazing response from the crowd during the show and their comments after the show and now being awarded the Bronze Jupiter is very satisfying it makes all the hard work worthwhile knowing that you produced a performance that brought so much enjoyment to so many people. It’s a real buzz.
It takes a lot of hard work by a very talented team of people to put together a 30 minute pyromusical. But to put together a brand new live pyromusical in the toughest fireworks competition in the world is a massive task and you need a very talented and hard working team.
Our creative designer Stuart Bensley, eMDee performers Mark Hoffmann and Lukas Bendel, our onsite pyrotechnicians Shayne Lewis, Mark Petkidis and Jorgen Enevoldsen all who did an great job. Christian Howard, Director making new pyrotechnic products with the entire manufacturing team and are warehouse logistics team have all assisted to get the best product and equipment there. The entire team did an amazing job and I think they are going to be kept busy over the coming years showcasing the ‘Colours of Kakadu’ to audiences at arts and cultural festivals who are interested in the show.
The very first performance of ‘Colours of Kakadu’ was a tremendous success and we have some exciting plans in the pipeline to take this show around the globe.”
This is the second Jupiter that Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics have been awarded at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition, winning the Silver Jupiter in 2008.
