BESydney’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Lyn Lewis-Smith comments, “As the sole organisation responsible for bidding and securing conventions, conferences and business events for Sydney, we wholeheartedly support and applaud the Premier and the NSW’s Government’s vision and commitment to Sydney’s future as a leading global business events destination.”
“In an increasingly competitive international environment, this infrastructure development will be the cornerstone to the harbour city’s continuing success. We are focused on building a healthy, sustainable pipeline of business events that will take place in the new facilities, and drive economic and social benefits for businesses and communities across the State.”
The announcement of the expanded plans coincided with the call for Expressions of Interest from the private sector to build and operate the new facilities at Darling Harbour.
