Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) has secured the return of the Associations Forum Annual National Conference to the Centre in July 2012.
The Conference is Australia’s premier event for professionals working in the not for profit sector and until this year had previously only been held in Sydney and Melbourne.
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre Director of Sales, Shaun Mitchell, made the announcement during the official welcome to delegates at this week’s conference.
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is operated by leading international Venue Management Group, AEG Ogden.
Following the announcement of the decision to return to Brisbane next year, Associations Forum General Manager, John Peacock said they were delighted to be returning to Brisbane and the Centre for the second year in succession, describing it as a great outcome for all concerned. “We achieved our objectives for the conference, Brisbane put on an outstanding event and we are leveraging what is a very positive and productive collaborative partnership by returning next year.”
The Centre worked closely with the support of industry partners, Brisbane Marketing and Events Queensland to confirm the back to back events for Brisbane.
BCEC General Manager, Bob O’Keeffe said he was very pleased that the Centre was again selected to host one of the industry’s most important events. “This event brings to Brisbane the sharing of valuable knowledge and expertise of an influential and highly relevant group of professionals and significant business opportunities and initiatives for the city.”
“Hosting the 2012 conference will offer us the opportunity to showcase our new Grey Street venue which was denied to the organisers for this year’s event because of a delay in construction due to the 2011 floods,” Mr O’Keeffe said.
The confirmation of the 7th Annual Association’s Forum Conference adds to an impressive run of bid wins by the Centre in the first few weeks of the new financial year, bringing the number of newly confirmed conferences to 11.
