Support for the Brisbane Truck Show – Australia’s premier transport industry event – soared during the recent four day event held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC).
The Truck Show, organised by the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association of Queensland (CVIAQ) delivered an unprecedented 8% increase in visitor numbers for its second show held at the BCEC, with its two major trading days establishing record attendances, translating to strong sales activity.
A dazzling showcase of the latest trucks, trailers and transport equipment and technology attracted a record crowd demonstrating overwhelming support for the show and positive outlook for future events.
The show which is the largest automotive show to take place in Australia this year is expected to provide a boost to Queensland’s economy of around $58 million.
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre General Manager, Bob O’Keeffe congratulated Brett Wright, CVIQ CEO and his team on an outstanding event.
“The Brisbane Truck Show is in a class of its own with regard to size and scale and events of this calibre and appeal have enormous benefit for Brisbane attracting large numbers of interstate and overseas visitors to the city.”
Mr O’Keeffe said the Brisbane Truck Show was one of the standout events on the Centre’s calendar this year and he looked to the show returning in 2015.
