A free guide to support and help grow the NSW tourism and major events sector has been published today by Destination NSW, the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency.
Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Chipchase said that the Partner Opportunities with Destination NSW Prospectus July 2015 – June 2016 provides an excellent overview of the opportunities and resources available to the NSW tourism industry.
“This year’s Prospectus has been designed to be more streamlined so that industry partners can gain a better understanding of what’s on offer through Destination NSW and how we can help them to reach out to more customers and trade partners in NSW, Australia and our priority international markets,” Ms Chipchase said.
“The Prospectus is a user-friendly guide that details the many and varied resources that are available to the tourism industry, including website listings, free industry research, toolkits, publicity opportunities, trade events and product showcases. The industry also has access to our visual resources including our extensive collection of video footage and image library with over 10,000 images available.
“Tourism and major events currently deliver $28.1 billion to the NSW economy and support 159,000 jobs. The NSW tourism industry currently leads Australia in terms of visitors, nights and expenditure. Initiatives such as the Prospectus present opportunities for us to increase our lead even further and move closer to achieving the goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure to NSW by 2020,” she said.
General Manager Industry Partnerships and Government Policy Simonne Shepherd said: “The opportunities presented in the Destination NSW Prospectus July 2015 – June 2016 are designed to suit all business sizes and budgets and demonstrate the ways in which Destination NSW can help promote NSW products, destinations and events.
“The Destination NSW Prospectus July 2015 – June 2016 can be accessed and downloaded from our website. Any businesses wanting to connect with us and access what is on offer is encouraged to complete the Expression of Interest form contained in the Prospectus on our website,” Ms Shepherd said.
