Destination SA, the premiere event on the Adelaide Convention Bureau’s calendar showcasing our business events and incentive travel industry is set to be the largest yet in its 7 year history with record attendance and a number of new initiatives.
Held on 22 &23 July – primarily at the Adelaide Convention Centre, with familiarisation trips either side, the Adelaide Convention Bureau can announce:
- Record Buyer Numbers – To date over 65 national/international conference and incentive travel ‘buyers’ have confirmed their attendance at DSA 2010. This represents a 20% increase on 2009.
- New Regional Familiarisation – For the first time, famils will take place both before and after the main exhibition and business meeting day. Guests will split into three groups visiting Kangaroo Island, The Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills / McLaren Vale taking part in hands-on experiences to showcase South Australian wine, our fresh produce, superb accommodation and outstanding scenery. International buyers and media from NZ and Asia will visit the regions prior to the 1 day exhibition.
- Largest Exhibition – a record number of exhibitors representing South Australian venues, products and services linked to the Business Events Sector will host face to face meetings with international, interstate and South Australian event buyers and media on Friday 23rd July. In a change to previous years each exhibiting member will have two representatives conducting simultaneous appointment streams – in effect doubling their business opportunity potential.
Whilst other states host similar events, Destination SA is considered nationally, to be one of the most targeted and effective Australian destination showcases. Buyers visiting the 2009 event were directly responsible for placing events in South Australia with a combined value in excess of $35 million to the state economy representing exceptional return on investment.
