High-quality food and beverage outlets will be a major component of Sydney’s newest exhibition facility, Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island, with Dockside Group announced as the successful tenderer.
Dockside Group, comprising seven waterfront venues and restaurants owned and operated by brothers, Christopher, Theodore and Peter Drivas, has been awarded a three-year exclusive contract for exhibition and corporate catering by operators, AEG Ogden.
Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island, located near the Anzac Bridge, will feature a mix of catering options tailored to suit specific event requirements.
Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island General Manager, Malu Barrios, said food and beverage was an essential part of the venue and the appointment of Dockside Group was a welcome addition.
“We are starting from scratch with the interim facility and it is a very exciting time as we see the various contracts being awarded,” Ms Barrios said.
“With almost 30 years of experience in hospitality, Dockside Group has a reputation for excellence and we look forward to working with them on site.”
Dockside Group Managing Director, Christopher Drivas, said he was thrilled his team would be a major part of the operation of the new facility.
“Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island provides a very strong and competitive option for the events and exhibition industries of Australia and we feel extremely well-positioned to deliver excellence in catering for this exciting new facility.
“During the next three years, Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island will enable Sydney to continue hosting and creating exciting and successful events at the world-class standard we’ve become renowned for.”
Managed by AEG Ogden, Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island will open for its first event in February 2014.
Special event transport will be provided during events, with regular, scheduled ferry services from Darling Harbour and bus shuttle services from Central Station.
