Event Training Australia will soon offer a range of new event management short-course programs. These programs have their origin in the award-winning Australian Centre for Event Management (ACEM), University of Technology Sydney’s (UTS) series of industry-based courses.
Dr Rob Harris, ACEM’s Hon. Director, will lead the programs following the announcement by UTS of the closure of ACEM at the end of 2017.
Event Training Australia’s new programs ensure the continuation of ACEM’s vital training role for event professionals, as well as those seeking to enter the industry. John Allen AM, former Australian Event Awards Lifetime Achievement Award winner and author of the text, Festival and Special Event Management, notes that:
“…for almost 20 years ACEM has played a significant role in ensuring
those charged with conducting events are equipped with the skills and
knowledge necessary to deliver events at the level of world’s best
practice. I therefore congratulate Event Training Australia and Dr Rob
Harris for taking on the task of building on ACEM’s multi-decade legacy.”
Event Training Australia’s programs will commence in 2018 with a four-day Executive Certificate in Event Management (Business and Public Events). This program will be offered in Sydney (13-16 March, 11-14 September), Melbourne (20-23 March, 23-26 October), the Gold Coast (1-4 May) and Singapore (3-6 July).
Course presenters already contracted include Meg Bailey (former Meetings and Events Australia’s State and National Operations Person of the Year), Jade Whiteley (Sydney-based event creator, producer and consultant) and Dr Rob Harris, all of whom were extensively involved in the ACEM award winning programs.
