After winning the NSW state award in September, Forte were announced as the 2014 National Winner ‘Events Caterer of the Year’ in the 2014 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS National Awards for Excellence on Monday night. Forte competed against 7 other award winning catering companies from across Australia to win this prestigious award.
The Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence is now in its 16th year and this national event is the culmination of all winners from the 8 state awards events held throughout Australia over the past few months. In 2014, over 1200 businesses within Australia’s hospitality industry competed in this competition with 59 catering companies acknowledged at this National event.
The judging for this event is completed by trained judges and follows strict guidelines to ensure the results are accurate and fair and highly regarded by the hospitality industry and those associated with it.
Winning a national award is something the Forte team is very proud of. We know we were pitched against some very capable and notable caterers for this category, so to be recognised on such a large scale is very exciting for the Forte team.
The event we presented in this award category was a gala dinner event for over 100 guests with an emphasis on providing a creative and memorable menu in an elegant and luxurious setting. The location of Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour presented a number of challenges including access to the island and being able to provide the high level of service we strive for. Ultimately, our event management skills and the cohesive team-work from all ensured that this event was memorable for all involved and exceeded all our client’s expectations.
