Sydney Company Laissez-faire Catering beat 50 other tender applications to win the prestigious exclusive rights to operate Fox Studios Australia’s in-house cafe for five years. The all new Cut Cafe opened on 1 October 2013 and caters exclusively to the cast and crew working at Fox Studios.
Laissez-faire Catering’s submission included a new name and branding concept, a fresh seasonal menu, great coffee and a new fitout.
Sara Flaksbard, General Manager, Laissez-faire said that her team are no strangers to the demands of high-pressure dining operations with experience gained at the Australian National Maritime Museum and St Vincent’s Hospital.
“Our commitment to Fox Studios Australia is to work towards enhancing the experience of their people and patrons, whether that is an international superstar or a crew member. People in the movie business need good fresh food and great coffee to keep them going – and they will get that from the Cut Cafe.
“We know that genuinely delicious and customer-service orientated retail experiences are core to Foxtel’s offering, and our partnership with them is an important component that continues to build on that experience,” said Ms Flaksbard.
Heading up the highly experienced team of Baristas, Café Attendants and Chefs at the Cut Café is Arthur Spiropoulos, a seasoned Retail Manager with over 20 years’ experience. Mr Spiropoulos’ plans bringing Laissez-faire’s unique ‘foodified’ stamp of approval to the Cut Café.
“All produce will be fresh, seasonal and locally sourced with daily specials. The food is tailored to our audience’s needs, as well as incorporating the best emerging culinary trends to keep everyone on their toes and excited about food.
“Workers and celebrities alike will no longer need to leave the venue to get really great food and coffee,” said Mr Spiropoulos.
The Cut Café also provides corporate catering. Its operating hours are Monday to Friday, 7am – 4pm daily.
