It’s been a hectic winter season wrap for Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island (SEC@GI) with back-to-back events all through August.
Hot on the heels of Australasian Gaming Expo’s successful return last week, the venue welcomes back Beauty Expo Australia for a second year on August 22-23.
Formerly known as the International Sydney Spa and Beauty Expo, this trade event has been re-branded to reflect its central role in Australia and as a pillar of the rapidly expanding beauty industry.
“The universe of professional beauty products and services is multi-faceted and ever growing” said Julia Erben, Event Director of organisers Reed Exhibitions Australia. “Our event embraces Beauty, Medi, Wellness and Spa, ensuring that beauty professionals are always the step ahead when it comes to trends, product innovation and building better businesses.”
The show floor will be defined by zones dedicated to each sector. More than 150 brands will be exhibiting within a B2B environment including leading brands such as OPI, Pelactiv, Inglot, Bio Sculpture Gel, Sunescape and Lycon. One visit allows industry professionals to see trends across different market segments from around the globe.
For the first time, the Expo will feature a ‘country-specific’ pavilion, with 14 brands from South Africa coming together to showcase their various products and services. Also new is the Paramedical Conference, a one-day event designed to help participants successfully transition beauty salons into Medi-Clinics. Sessions will be facilitated by the renowned Co-Founder of The Laser Lounge, Bita Beyzaee, one of several international and local experts featured in the jam-packed program.
As announced exclusively on Facebook earlier this week, Reed Exhibitions Australia is promising ‘a mega-exclusive special celebrity appearance happening at Beauty Expo this weekend’. “The Main Stage is where you want to be at 10.30am on Saturday,” Erben tipped. “You’ll want to see celebrities doing something you’ve probably never seen before!”
Pre-show excitement is in the air prompting more registrations as the event counts down to opening day. The Centre’s Facebook event listing has also boosted online buzz for the Expo. More than 356,000 people have viewed a link to the site’s event listing, 11,000 have viewed the page and almost 4,000 have indicated interest in attending.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the Beauty Expo back to Glebe Island this weekend and wish them a successful return,” said SEC@GI General Manager Malu Barrios.
