Royal Agricultural Society NSW (RAS) Chief Executive Michael Kenny is today pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Cherie Nicholl to the newly-created position of General Manager Business & Commercial Development, Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Ms Nicholl will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans to support the growth of the largest annual event in the southern hemisphere, the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
RAS Chief Executive Michael Kenny said Ms Nicholl brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the new position.
“Cherie has 20 years’ experience gained in direct and digital creative agencies, publishers and media organisations,” said Mr Kenny.
“With a strong and proven background in integrated marketing, business strategy, stakeholder engagement and strategic partnership development, Cherie will be a valuable asset to the team.”
Ms Nicholl said she’s thrilled to be joining the RAS and looks forward to making a genuine contribution to the ongoing success of one of the Nation’s much loved events – the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
“I’m looking forward to building on the Show’s strong heritage to ensure that future generations continue to create great memories at this iconic Sydney event,” said Ms Nicholl.
“The opportunities are boundless and the potential for growth across multiple audiences both locally and off-shore is a truly exciting prospect,” said Ms Nicholl.
Prior to her appointment, Ms Nicholl was the Director of Partnerships at Nationwide News Sydney, publisher of The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph.
As Director of Partnerships Ms Nicholl was responsible for the development and management of key external partnerships for The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph. Here Ms Nicholl succeeded in taking traditional sponsorships to a new level for both parties delivering increased audience, revenue and recognition.
Ms Nicholl has also held the roles of Deputy Marketing and Circulation Director and Marketing Director at Nationwide News. Prior to that Ms Nicholl was the Marketing Manager of ACP’s Woman’s Day Magazine and began her career as an account manager at several marketing and advertising agencies.
Cherie Nicholl’s appointment is effective from September 26.
