Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders has appointed Garry Beadel as the new hotel manager. Effective today, Garry will oversee the hotel’s operations, leveraging his experience in brand customer services and quality control.
Prior to joining the Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders team, Garry was the executive assistant manager and rooms division manager of Crowne Plaza Christchurch, where he demonstrated exemplary leadership during the Christchurch earthquakes. As part of his career development with IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), Garry was also the brand service consultant for New Zealand in the roll out of the Holiday Inn ‘Stay Real, Be You” training across Australasia.
Garry commenced his career in hotel operations in 1988 at Gardens Parkroyal Queenstown, New Zealand where he worked as duty manager. In 1995 Garry was promoted to reception supervisor and was transferred to Gagudju Crocodile Hotel in the Northern Territory, Australia.
Throughout his hospitality career, Garry has worked across multiple regions including the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia. Interestingly, he was the first male spa manager in the United Kingdom – running the health and beauty spa at Five Lakes Hotel, Gold & Spa in Essex.
Garry was also the 2011 Australasia winner of IHG’s “Our Hero’ award, for his dedication to guests and fellow employees during the Christchurch earthquakes.
He currently resides at Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders and is conversant in Japanese.
