Industry veteran, Brian Nash, has been appointed by International Convention Centre Sydney as the Director of Audio Visual Services. His role is a vital component of the advanced technological team as the venue ramps up its rigorous implementation and testing in the countdown to the December opening.
Within the role, he will deliver the latest audio visual (AV) technologies and innovations to a year-round calendar of events, exhibitions and conventions at the new integrated ICC Sydney precinct.
Nash said he is looking forward to working alongside a dedicated support team to deliver seamless and flexible systems and processes that will ensure visitor expectations are exceeded from day one and future-proof the AU$1.5billion venue development.
“ICC Sydney will set a new benchmark for venue technology with world leading technical and production facilities including high definition screens, large-scale projection capabilities and first rate audio technology and equipment. I have spent the majority of my life on, near or around a stage and can proudly say that the venue launch is one of the most exciting things to happen in our industry in decades.”
Chief Executive Officer of ICC Sydney, Geoff Donaghy, said Nash has over thirty years’ experience and will bring passion and dedication to the highly technical role.
“Brian joins the ICC Sydney team with a wealth of industry knowledge and is the ideal candidate to manage the latest technologies and innovations we have across the audio visual sector. Featuring world class sound, visuals and technology, the venue will provide endless possibilities for creating events and meetings that inspire the imagination and boost professional development,” he said.
Nash will be responsible for implementing effective and efficient AV systems and processes, ensuring installation, testing, commissioning and operational readiness of all systems and equipment and ensuring a seamless transition between the testing and operating phases.
Nash is a highly experienced operator who has worked on numerous touring productions, festivals and venues including Sydney Opera House, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
Opening in December, ICC Sydney is Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct.
