The Australian Centre for Event Management (ACEM) will next week tackle sustainability and creativity in event management with a series of niche one-day workshops, from 1 – 4 July.
The Event Management Workshops are a forum for knowledge on world’s best practice in event management, ideal for young professionals trying to break into the events industry, or experienced managers updating their skills set.
Cameron Little of Sustainability Systems and Services will lead the ‘Sustainable events: policies, procedures & practices to improve your performance’ workshop which will focuses on the core sustainability principles relevant to the events industry.
The workshop will provide an overview of the core sustainability principles that are directly relevant to the events industry. From small corporate functions, community based events to conferences, exhibitions and music festivals, participants will have the opportunity to develop an action plan for their own event.
‘The Creative edge: public events and Festivals Master Class’, held by Gillian Minervini, Creative Director/Producer for the City of Sydney will focus on the development of creative content and how to brighten your event and make it stand out from the rest.
With events such as Chinese New Year Festival, Art & About, Christmas Celebrations, the 2000 Olympics Games, and a five-year stint as Festival Director of Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, Minervini has many years of hands-on experience creating large and small scale events for a diverse range of audiences.
Where creativity gets lost in amongst the policies and planning, Minervini will present real life case studies to illustrate how creativity has enhanced her events and guide participants through a creative process where they create their own creative vision for a new event.
‘Marketing In a Digital world,’ conducted by Malcolm Auld, Principal of The Marketing Campus, will educate participants on success with marketing events in the digital world, both on and offline, and determine the most effective channels for marketing.
