Renowned hospitality and tourism management specialist, Jakki Temple Govan, has been appointed to the new role of Commercial Director at InterContinental Adelaide.
Ms Temple has joined the hotel after more than a decade with the Accor Group in New South Wales and most recently as General Manager, Sales and Marketing at The Star in Sydney.
Since 2011, she has played a critical role in the repositioning of The Star following its $850 million development, where she lead a team of 43, across hotel accommodation sales and marketing, casino marketing, sales and execution of events, restaurant sales for 7 specialty outlets as well as the management of on and offsite casino events.
“I am thrilled to be returning to my hometown of Adelaide and in particular to Intercontinental Adelaide.
“When I first began my dream career in hospitality, studying Hotel Management, I used to walk past the iconic building and aspire to one day work there. Little did I know I would be joining the team during one of Adelaide tourism’s most exciting periods of growth,” said Ms Temple.
IHG’s Director of Commercial -Australasia, Marcus Tait, has welcomed Ms Temple’s appointment as a coup for InterContinental Adelaide.
“Jakki’s wide range of experience includes international hotel chains, events centres, restaurants, entertainment venues as well as casinos,” he said.
