Live oyster shucking, tea cupping, pavlova decorating and bike building were among insider experiences showcased to professional meeting planners last week, as part of the launch of InterContinental Meetings in Australasia.
The major launch event for the region was held in the ballroom and Treasury corridors of InterContinental Sydney last week, which were transformed with the tastes, sights and local experiences of the harbour city. The event featured Yum Cha from Chinatown, a rose garden representative of the Royal Botanic Gardens and a Harry’s Cafe de Wheels pie cart.
InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto also held a showcase event last week, which doubled as a celebration of the opening of Guy Grossi’s latest culinary venture, The Merchant, at the hotel. Guests were treated to fresh regional produce featuring local Indigenous ingredients, massages from the hotel’s day spa and local entertainment.
Hundreds of PCOs, venue bookers and industry professionals will continue to be wowed by the program in the coming weeks, when InterContinental hotels in Adelaide, Perth and Fiji launch their Insider Collection products and services.
