Cleanevent staff servicing the recycling stations which were in abundance at Olympic venues

Cleanevent Pty Ltd was the provider of Cleaning Management Services to the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

Cleanevent Pty Ltd, a wholly owned Australian company provided around the clock cleaning and waste management services for the sixteen day event schedule over 32 Olympic venues, which resulted in the cleanest Olympic Games in history!

The 32 venues all required specific cleaning. This didn’t just happen. It took a lot of hours and hard work by the 1500 staff specifically recruited to do the job, staff from all over the world. The staff at Stadium Australia conducted their turnover clean of the 110,000 seat venue in 1.5 hrs in a military like operation.

The geographical location of the venues presented a challenge for Cleanevent. From Beach Volleyball at Bondi Beach to Slalom and Regatta at Penrith Lakes, the company covered huge distances to get the job done.

The 32 venues were divided into 5 areas and a central base station could provide instant response teams to target the areas that needed immediate attention above and beyond the day-to-day cleaning operations.

With three years of strategic planning, on-line recruitment of 1500 casual staff and the merging of Cleanevent offices worldwide, the results were apparent in every Olympic venue – there was no rubbish. Cleanevent delivered its commitment to the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG) by presenting the 32 venues to the world in the cleanest state possible at all times.

In order to achieve these results, Cleanevent utilised its affiliation with Australia’s leading cleaning equipment supplier Kärcher Pty Limited to acquire the equipment necessary to perform its duties.

Kubota Tractor Australia provided Cleanevent with a small army of compact tractors to transport the waste around the venues throughout the Olympics and Paralympics.

But the Australian company didn’t just “land the gig.” Armed with over 13 years of experience servicing events, including the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, Australian Formula One Grand Prix, the Australian and US Open Tennis Championships and the Spring Racing Carnival (Melbourne Cup), Cleanevent Pty Limited were awarded the contract in 1997.

Cleanevent Pty Limited prides itself on being the best and most environmentally aware provider of cleaning and waste management services to venues and events on a global basis.
