The Events Industry Association was thrilled to hear the announcement yesterday that the State Government backed bid for the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships was successful. 

President Jennifer Harrington said last night, “We are enthusiastically committed to working with Eventscorp to secure as many high quality events for Western Australia as we possibly can.  

Having already staged the America’s Cup and many other high profile sailing and yachting events, this international sailing event is a perfect match for Western Australia and I am sure that the economic benefits of staging the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships will be enormous.  

Without question, events like this one have the potential to provide excellent global tourism exposure for our State, and Perth and Fremantle in particular.
