New market direction for Dockside Group

28th November 2007

The Directors of the Dockside Group are pleased to announce the acquisition of another key venue, Italian Village in the historic Rocks precinct, effective immediately.

From its beginning as Dockside, the expanded Dockside Group has gained a reputation for hosting some of Sydney's most sensational events.

Home to some of Sydney's best waterfront venues, Dockside Group's multiple function centres and restaurants are known for service excellence and spectacular harbour views.

Italian Village at the Rocks joins Dockside, Star room, L'Aqua and Ice Cube restaurant at Cockle Bay Wharf, and WatersEdge at Pier One under the direction of Managing Director Chris Drivas.

It is felt that the company branding of the Dockside Group best reflects the strong brand position and unique profile of the venues within the geographic CBD marketplace.

From the New Year, Dockside Group will have fresh new logos and imagery, coupled with the new slogan "Venues with a Difference" as part of the roll-out of new branding, but the company's strength remains with a reputation as a dynamic team with a high level of service.

If property success is all about "position, position, position", then Dockside Group function venues hold a remarkably unique spot in the marketplace.

Italian Village overlooks the Sydney Opera House, the only city icon missing from the group's landscape of spectacular views.

In a New Year's resolution to further establish the group's reputation for excellence, staff at all six harbourside venues will be managed by newly appointed Mr Philip Beauchamp who has 30 years' experience in the hospitality industry, most recently as Director of Operations at Sydney Hilton. His appointment as Group General Manager is an exciting addition to the team.

The branding of WatervieW Convention Centre will remain as Venues of Australia situated at Sydney Olympic Park.

Dockside Group will be making our presence felt at AIME 2008 and will be looking for more opportunities to expand into the New Year.

Most significantly, the management and teams of all six venues under the Dockside Group brand name are committed to exceed client expectations.
