EEAA announces new executive committee

22 July 2008

Matthew Pearce, Managing Director, Diversified Exhibitions, who was voted President, Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) at its recent AGM, immediately laid the groundwork for his term in office by appointing key working groups to ensure the setting and achieving of key industry objectives for the next 12 months.

Pearce’s appointment follows the resignation of Robert Moore, Managing Director, Agility Logistics, who remains on the Executive Committee as Vice-President.

“As the exhibition industry continues to expand, it is more important than ever that EEAA continues to address issues of concern and importance to all association members,” said Pearce.

“Listening to the industry, responding to the needs of our members and delivering programs which will enhance the exhibition industry’s position are our key priorities,” he said.

The EEAA President and Vice-Presidents will be responsible for heading up the representation, and establishing the major issues to be addressed, of the industry’s three major sub-groups: organisers (Matthew Pearce); suppliers (Robert Moore); venues (Robert O’Keeffe).

In addition, five working groups have been formed to address the key areas of Finance/Governance/Audit/Ethics; Membership; Standards/Professionalism/Industry Initiatives; Marketing & Communications; and Research and Education.

Suitably credentialed industry members will be sought to assist in the various projects, which each working group will define and set objectives for.
