Further consolidating the strength of its food show portfolio, Diversified Exhibitions has acquired the Restaurant shows from Single Market Events.

Held annually in Sydney and Melbourne, these small, but highly-focussed events comprise a mix of exhibitors and educational elements, aimed at assisting those who work in restaurants to refine their business management skills, learn more about the latest culinary advances and develop their wine knowledge. 

Diversified Exhibitions organises trade shows Fine Food, Wine & Spirits Australia, Hotel Australia and Hospitality; and consumer show, Good Food & Wine Show.

“The Restaurant shows are an excellent complement to Diversified’s stable of food events. Our exhibition teams have a strong understanding of the food and catering industry and we believe we can add great value to these shows, which are already extremely successful,” said Matthew Pearce, Managing Director, Diversified Exhibitions.

“The recent Restaurant 08 Sydney enjoyed good visitation, with more than 5,100 people through the doors during the two-day show and we will be looking to capitalise on this in 2009.”

Restaurant’s current Exhibition Manager, Michael-William Kelly will continue to manage the events. He joins the Diversified team from 1 September 2008, reporting to Exhibition Director, Timothy Collett.

Restaurant 09 Melbourne will take place 6-7 April at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre; Restaurant 09 Sydney will take place 10-11 August at Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park .
