Nominations are open for the coveted AIME Industry Person of the Year Awards that recognize best practice and contribution to the business events industry.
Established in 2006, the awards are presented at AIME each year and honour an individual from the Asia Pacific and another from the international arena.
AIME International Industry Person of the Year Award winners have included Robin Lokerman (2006), Martin Sirk (2007) and Martin Lewis (2008). The Asia Pacific winners have included Sandra Passaro (2006), Anthony Wong (2007) and Elizabeth Rich (2008).
Acting Event Director, Elizabeth Sarian, said that it was important to recognize the individuals in the industry that go beyond what is expected of them.
“I’m sure we all know of people within the meetings and incentive industry that work tirelessly, who give their time freely to industry associations and organizations, or act as mentors to young people embarking on their own careers. It is these people that we hope to recognize each year at AIME,” Ms Sarian said.
Nominations and submissions can be made online at www.aime.com.au. Criteria are available on the website and submissions must be received by 8 February 2009.
The AIME Industry Person of the Year Awards will be presented on Wednesday, 18 February at 9.45am on the concourse outside the main entry to AIME at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. AIME is at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Australia, 17 & 18 February 2009.
