In an industry first the MCVB joined with the Melbourne branches of MEA and ISES for a joint Christmas Party.  The event was to be the first corporate event to be held in the Southern Star which was due to open the previous week.  The industry guests were very understanding when informed that the wheel would not be operational because crucial parts had not yet arrived. So we were treated to what was certainly a training session for the staff as they explained the features of the attraction that we were no going on. Then it was off to the Star Room for the party.
