has been named among the nation’s fastest growing businesses.
Based on
Victoria
’s
Great Ocean Road
and with a second office on
Queensland
’s Gold Coast, the company is listed among the BRW Fast Starters for 2009.
The annual list, compiled by national business magazine BRW and released today, showcases entrepreneurial and growing businesses from across the economy and highlights strategies and tactics they use to be successful.
Brett Hollis, who started the business in 2005, said he and his team were thrilled to be included on the Fast Starters list, adding that the company’s continued growth was thanks to industry support.
“There is a real demand for the kind of unique and customised experiences we offer,” Brett said.
“Clients also appreciate the fact that we concentrate solely on the corporate market, so we truly understand their needs.”
Brett started
Big Stick Adventures
as a way of getting paid to go surfing after spending 12 years as a
Collins St
banker in
Melbourne
.
His vision for the business soon expanded and in the past four years
Big Stick Adventures
has hosted customised team building and incentive experiences in
Australia
and
Asia
, hosting groups ranging in size from two to 7000.
In addition to the Gold Coast office, the company is also preparing to open a Bali office as a result of increasing demand from
Asia
.
