Aurora announces new conference centre on Kangaroo Island

Aurora Hotels-Resorts-Attractions, which owns and operates the superbly located Aurora Ozone Hotel on the seafront at Kingscote Kangaroo Island, announces a major redevelopment of its conference facilities. The $1m project, scheduled for completion on 16 November 09, will result in a new conference centre comprising two high quality, ultra modern conference rooms with theatre style capacity of 90 and 60 delegates. 

Key aspects of the conference centre are:

 ·         Both conference rooms will have adjacent breakout areas with spectacular views of Nepean Bay (dolphins/seals) for private enjoyment

·         Private dining of up to 150 delegates

·         Conference bar will have provision for private functions/drinks etc

·         Operable walls (ie retractable) to provide better options and flexibility for use of conference space

·         Full range of audio-visual, big screens; data projectors; internet connectivity

·         Construction will feature:

·         energy efficient treatments to expansive windows plus provision for opening to allow fresh air when required

·         use of plantation timber products in furniture and fittings

·         recycling of waste materials where possible

·         upgrade existing lighting to be modern, energy-efficient options

·         sound-proofing between rooms

 The Aurora Ozone Hotel has 78 rooms, offering excellent delegate accommodation options ranging from 3.5 stars to 4.5 stars.

 Kangaroo Island, an Australian icon with brilliant natural attractions and famous local produce, continues to be widely promoted both in Australia and overseas. Until now it has suffered from a lack of suitable conference venues despite strong interest from many organisations to hold conferences there. Kangaroo Island has easy access by both air & sea and many pre/during/post conference tours and activities available.  

To celebrate the opening of the Aurora Ozone Hotel’s new conference centre, there will be no hire charge for conference rooms booked with accommodation between 16 November 09 and 30 April 2010.
