Creative ideas service offers a ‘secret weapon’ for event planners

15th July 2009

Event planners can now add firepower to brainstorming sessions and ideas generation following the launch of Ideas Culture, a service that delivers unlimited fresh ideas using a global team of Ideas Agents recruited via Twitter to solve creative challenges.

Ideas Culture offers an invaluable creative resource for event planners constantly pitching for business and injects fresh thinking into existing client campaigns.

The brainchild of former Ms Megabyte technology expert Yvonne Adele, Ideas Culture is based on a methodical approach to idea generation, which combines creating thinking methodologies developed from Yvonne’s 20 years of business and problem-solving insight with improvisation theatre activities and world’s best practice creative thinking research.

Ideas Culture fuels creative thinking and delivers fresh ideas via three key services:

Ideas While You Sleep – on online service whereby agencies can submit a creative challenge by 4pm, have a global team chosen from 170+ Ideas Agents work on it overnight, and receive an ideas pack including 100+ ideas by 10am the next morning. The pack also includes supporting evaluation and implementation templates. .

Ideas With You – a fully facilitated interactive workshop to fire fresh thinking, working through a series of creative thinking techniques and idea evaluation to bring ideas to life.

Ideas Via You – tools and techniques accessible by phone or email to kick-start and energise brainstorm sessions.

Yvonne said Ideas Culture provides a new ‘secret weapon’ for agencies continually pitching fresh ideas but may not always have the time, resources or thinking space to generate a ‘killer’ idea.

“Ideas are the lifeblood of the event planning industry but the reality is it can be difficult to drive creative thinking while running on empty. How many times have brainstorm sessions fallen flat or old ideas have simply been recycled?”

“Imagine having 100 or more new ideas delivered to your inbox in less than 24 hours that will give your next client campaign a creative edge,” Yvonne said.

Yvonne hatched Ideas for You by conducting her own live brainstorm and came up with the idea to post a request on Twitter to recruit potential brainstormers – 72 registered overnight. Ideas Culture’s army of Ideas Agents has since grown to over 170 in eight countries, ranging from multi-national CEOs, entrepreneurs and professionals to comedians, retirees and students. All Ideas Agents are paid for their ideas, which are owned by the client that submits the creative challenge.

“Key to the success of Ideas for You is each Ideas Agent brings their own set of unique thoughts, insights and experiences. Creative thinking theory has proven that the best way to spark new ideas is to use fresh eyes and random connections,” Yvonne said.

Austereo (FoxFM/2Day/Triple M) recently engaged Ideas Culture to help create campaign ideas that would entice a leading console game company away from their usual TV and online advertising. From more than 70 ideas, 10 top ideas were chosen using Ideas Culture tools, from which one was worked up and pitched to the client, resulting in half a million dollars in extra advertising revenue.

Ideas Culture has fostered ideas generation for a range of other marketing challenges including motivating sales staff, increasing web visitation, marketing a city precinct, educating consumers on a recycling product and developing a social networking strategy.
