Brisbane Marketing is breaking new ground in its search for meeting and conference business by staging its first pop-up networking event.

The pop-up phenomenon – which sees businesses opening up at empty, temporary locations for a blink-and-you-miss-it moment in time – is taking the world by storm as the latest in cutting-edge promotional strategies.

Brisbane Marketing Director – Convention Bureau, Ms Annabel Sullivan said the Brisbane pop-up was an outstanding success, attracting more than 100 local meeting planners and event organisers.

“We’re always looking for new ways to engage with our clients and the creative and innovative thinking behind the pop-up concept is an ideal fit with Brisbane’s branding as Australia’s new world city,” said Ms Sullivan.

“There was immense interest in our pop-up right from the outset and the feedback on the night was overwhelmingly positive.

“There was a real acknowledgement from the crowd that this was a unique occasion – a one-off special event for those in-the-know.”

Staged in Santos Place – one of Brisbane’s newest and most environmentally-friendly buildings – the pop-up saw guests networking with local business events operators and securing special one-night-only deals amid a creative atmosphere of entertainers, musicians and a paper cutting artist.
