One of the key venues and participants in the recent VIVID Sydney festival was the MCA so it was fitting that ISES presented this report on the event in this venue.
Brenton Kewley is the Executive Producer of VIVID Sydney (and also the City of
Sydney
's New Years Eve celebrations). In a very amusing presentation Brenton described how he was “volunteered” for the job of pulling this festival together. Pulling being the operative word as he had to corral diverse stakeholders (and various egos) into a common vision for the event.
Mary-Anne Kyriakou is the founder and Artistic Director of Smart Light Sydney which created the dynamic Light Walk and the Festival of the Stars during VIVID Sydney. Mary-Anne spoke passionately about the creative process and the issues involved in gathering the appropriate artists to participate in this event.
Rachel Hurford works for Events NSW and spoke about Crave Sydney another new event on the Sydney calendar for which she is the Creative Producer.
New chapter president Jeremy Garling quizzed the panellists on how ISES members could get involved with these events.
To close the evening Jeremy Garling launched a new marketing initiative for ISES Sydney The Gold Standard.
