The buzz:

The Melbourne chapter of ISES sure know how to party and they were keen to show their party antics to visitors from Sydney and Brisbane who were in Melbourne for the regional affiliate board meeting.

Pre dinner drinks provided a great chance to network with the midwinter theme accentuated by falling snow and the interaction of a couple of Ice Maidens.  A mischievous “Puck” and his spritely friends then invited guests to alight the magical moving stairs to ascend to the elegantly decorated dining area.

MC John Deeks intoned his best TV voice to introduce the evening and to distribute the lucky door prizes.

A contemporary dance performance by “Puck” and his sprites was followed by Mary-Louise Santa & Lynlee Williams singing The Flower Duet (from Lakme) and Nessun Dorma (from Turandot) who were joined by some gorgeous ballet dancers dressed in Giselle style tutus.

The formal part of the evening was the presentation of the 2009 Melbourne chapter Lifetime Achievement award to Lech Sobecki.  Lech was a founding member of the Melbourne chapter and its first president.
