The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre’s (MCEC) Prue Rogers has been named Business Development Person of the Year at the prestigious National Meeting and Events Australia (MEA) Awards in Darwin last night.
As Assistant Director of Sales Rogers’ success is due to the significant results she produced for MCEC during the 2011/12 financial year, working with her team on generating new sales activities and achieving record sales figures.
This is the first time Rogers has won the national category and said she was absolutely thrilled with the accolade.
“I’m honoured to be recognised by MEA and our industry and I’d like to thank MCEC for their support and the opportunities I’ve had to grow and develop over the last three years,” she said.
Rogers has worked within the business events industry for 15 years and joined MCEC in 2009 as Sales Manager, National Conventions. She quickly stepped up into the position of Senior Sales Manager (Events) and in 2012 took on the Assistant Director of Sales role.
MCEC’s Chief Executive Peter King said Rogers’ award was a fantastic achievement and well deserved.
“We are very proud of everything Prue has achieved for MCEC and this award is a testament to the contribution she makes to our organisation and the business events industry,” he said.
