The social media phenomenon of the MEA 2015 conference was all DoubleDutch
Most conference apps for mobile devices focus on the program, speaker notes and the delegates. The app for this year’s conference was provided by Hamilton Island and AV Partners and had more social media interaction that any MEA conference app previously. The social media side of the app (very much like Instagram) really got the delegates engaged with each other in the lead up to the opening of the conference, and then kept them engaged through the conference.
We spoke to Tim Klaver from Doubledutch, the app developers.
The awards dinner arrivals
Hamilton Island is in the tropics – so naturally it rains – often. The theme for this year’s dinner was inspired by the TV series Mad Men. Most guests got the theme right while others got lost in the haze of the 60s. ASE met the guests as they dodged the rain on the way into the dinner.
