The MEA SA awards dinner was a classy affair when guests gathered in the Crystal Room of the Stamford Plaza Adelaide.
Highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Muriel Ellis Award for outstanding service to the meetings and events industry in SA to Rob Bulfield – a very popular recipient.
Other awards went to Adelaide Convention Bureau (Metro DMO) and Kimberley Taylor (USI Young Professional Scholarship)
MEA CEO Linda Gaunt told the gathering that although entry numbers in the awards across Australia continue to grow they were low in SA. This is something that the MEA awards organisers intend to rectify, starting immediately with the appointment of a full time MEA staff member to be based in Adelaide (the position is now open so if you are interested contact Linda).
Entertainment for the event featured P J Oaten in his Redubbed Live act – very funny and more about that here.
Throughout the night guests had plenty of fun as they dressed up to have their photo taken in the Smilebooth photo studio.
A challenge was set to each table that had the task of creating a masterpiece with supplied materials – this made for an hilarious finale as each representative tried to explain the significance of their creations.
A silent auction and lucky dip wine rack added to the fundraising efforts of the night
