The Melbourne Design Awards (MDA) has just passed the half way mark in its call for entries. With a phenomenal response across all categories, entries are due to be revealed for voting by design peers and the public on Wednesday, 1st December 2010.
The MDA is the only Australian awards to recognise, but not just limited to, a broad range of design categories including products and furnishings, architecture, interiors, landscape design, advertising graphic design, fashion, photography and digital media, as well as multiple categories beyond standard design disciplines such as event design, including:
The ‘Best Design Event for Consumers’, tradeshows, exhibitions, entertainment concerts or festivals, etc.
The ‘Best Design Event for Businesses’, conferences, awards, networking functions etc.
The ‘Best Design Event’, recognising a leading design event conducted in Melbourne. It may be a single function or series of functions and events under one design event umbrella and specifically for the design community either professional or the design public.
‘Installation Design’, including Sets, Exhibits and Displays for events including conferences, tradeshows and entertainment concerts or festivals, to name a few.
Entries are open to any designer, design company, commissioner of design or student, provided they are active in the Melbourne market.
Entries are now open and close 11:59pm EST Sunday, 28th November 2010, and can be submitted online at www.melbournedesignawards.com.au. All valid entries will be viewable and available for public voting. Follow the Awards as they progress on Facebook.
