Brian Acheson, founder and owner of US-based VIP Events, has been elected as the International Special Events Society’s (ISES) new international president.
Acheson was inaugurated for the 2013/14 year at the association’s annual general meeting last week, which took place during the first ISES Live event in Nassau, Bahamas.
He was previously president of ISES’ Dallas chapter and has been on the international board of governors for 11 years. He takes over the position from outgoing ISES international president Kathy Miller.
Acheson said: “I take on the role at a very exciting time in our association’s history, having just launched the inaugural ISES Live, the roll out of our new brand strategy and brand story, and the development of a number of new chapters around the world.
“ISES remains the natural home for those within the creative events profession across the globe, and I look forward to continuing to work with other organisations in the sector to promote the value of this incredible and valuable industry.”
This year’s ISES Live event was attended by over 400 members from around the world. The annual conference will be held in Seattle next year.
