The teams at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort and Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise teamed up last week to bring a group of PCO’s from Sydney and Melbourne to the Gold Coast for a weekend famil.
First stop was Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise and then it was onto Southport Yacht Club for lunch.
Under perfect blue skies the PCO’s then donned their sailors hats and enjoyed a fun team building race sailing experience where they learned to sail and race a yacht.
A night event at Sea World saw the PCO’s get up close and personal with a dolphin and face to face with a sea lion which was a first for many of them.
Saturday was golf at Sanctuary Cove Country Club before a delicious Seafood lunch on the far lagoon where the guys from Jetpack Adventures performed a spectacular demonstration on the Jetpack, Jetovator and the Flyboard. A couple of eager PCO’s had the opportunity to try their skills on the Flyboard.
The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing in the sun sipping cocktails beside the beach lagoon pool and soaking up our perfect winter weather.
A Gold Winning experience was then enjoyed when the PCO’s got to meet Gold Medal Olympian’s Nat Cook and Steven Bradbury. The group enjoyed a taste of the motivational speeches that are available for corporate groups.
It was then off to Dreamworld for pre-dinner drinks at Corroboree followed by an encounter with the tigers and dinner at Tiger Island. After dinner PCO’s got their Zombie on for some Laser Tag before ending the night at Dreamworld watching a specular laser light show in main street.
Sunday saw the delegates head to picturesque McLaren’s Landing for breakfast on the beach before trying their balance on the segways. A highlight of the weekend was being picked up in helicopters and treated to a scenic flight to Surfers Paradise to see the Gold Coast Waterways.
The famil ended with a delicious degustation lunch in The Fireplace where the PCO’s were wowed by the first class cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Parashuram Pathak and his team.
It was a full itinerary but a very enjoyable one that showcased both properties and highlighted the key tourist attractions and activities that corporate groups can enjoy when conferencing on the Gold Coast.
