Record numbers of visitors are flocking to Glasshouse, Australia’s premier regional performing arts, conference and entertainment centre – with a remarkable 39% increase in visitors, and 42% rise in ticket sales, recorded over the past 12 months.
The award-winning multi-functional centre, which has now been open for two years, is leveraging off this burgeoning public interest to form strong ongoing relationships with clients wishing to hire the venue for business and corporate events.
State of the art facilities and beautifully designed, innovative venue spaces which lend them themselves to a variety of uses have drawn interest from event organisers from all over Sydney, ACT and the mid North Coast, as well as from theatre producers from all over Australia and overseas.
High-profile conferences planned in the coming months include:
- The National Party Conference, to be held in October
- Zonta District conference, to be held in October. Zonta International is a worldwide organisation of prominent executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women through service and advocacy
- The Strategic Regional Leadership for Innovation Conference (SRLIC), to be held in November. This conference was held at Glasshouse last year; based on the success of this event, organisers have chosen to return to Glasshouse as the venue for the 2011 conference
Commenting on choosing Glasshouse as the venue for the SRLIC, Peter Tregilgas, Executive Officer Regional Australia said, “We are again hosting a significant national conference in November 2011 and have again chosen the Glasshouse as our preferred venue.
The accessibility of Port Macquarie from Sydney and the services of the Glasshouse as a professional theatre and conference venue in the Mid North Coast of NSW make the job of communicating regional issues to a national audience a feasible and practical opportunity.”
