Hair Expo Australia 2014 promised exhibitors and visitors alike a three-day extravaganza and there’s no doubt that the country’s premier salon event, held 7-9 June 2014 at the Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island ([email protected]), delivered a stellar show at the new harbourside venue.
Over 11,000 international and local visitors came to see 150 exhibitors showcase innovative products and services spending over $1.6 million in salon supplies. International celebrity hairdressers in stage demonstrations, industry icons in education sessions and hectic networking keyed up on-the-floor action.
It’s the second successful Reed Exhibitions event to be held at the Glebe Island venue following Gift Fairs Sydney, which was [email protected] launch event when it opened its doors last February.
Stephen Steenson, Exhibition Director – Reed Gift Fairs, has praised the venue’s delivery of Hair Expo, congratulating the [email protected] team on the ongoing improvements that has seen the Centre go from strength to strength since its launch.
“The venue has come a long way in many areas and supports the feedback from us and our exhibitors and visitors as the venue develops into what is now a great place to do business,” said Steenson.
“Exhibitors love the natural light which helps them display their products and services and reduces their spend on additional lights and rigging. The food and beverage offering has also improved greatly,” he added.
[email protected] General Manager Malu Barrios said, “It’s gratifying to know that a world-leading events organiser such as Reed has recognised our commitment to operational excellence. This is a huge vote of confidence.”
Three more major Reed events are lined up at the Centre for 2014.
“We are focussed on delivering exceptional experiences to planners, exhibitors and visitors, ensuring we are able to capitalise on future opportunities to host major trade and consumer exhibitions in Sydney,” Barrios added.
Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island has been purpose built to provide a fully functioning event space while ICC Sydney, the new exhibition, conference and entertainment complex in Darling Harbour is being developed.
“Our ultimate goal is to build on Sydney’s strength as a leading global destination for business events,“ said Barrios.
