The Cairns Convention Centre’s recent $13m refurbishment resulted in a stylish new look building with an updated exterior, enhanced arrival zone, and new soft furnishings. The contemporary, modern look proved the catalyst for innovation and change with the development of a new logo and interactive website.
The Centre worked with a local designer, virtual reality photographer and web development company to ensure the new look reflects the colour, vibrancy and culture of this stunning region and the professional, friendly tropical hospitality of the Cairns Convention Centre.
The logo features fresh new colours and pays homage to the Centre’s 20 year history by retaining three figures, modernised from the old logo. The figures form the idea of a gathering and in turn the creation of a bond. A bond between the client, delegates and community with the Convention Centre as the catalyst – represented by the swirl or roof line.
Cairns Convention Centre’s mobile friendly, interactive website incorporates the new logo colours and responds to the needs of meeting planners and our international, national and local visitors. It features 3D virtual reality floor plans allowing you to take a walk through the main spaces of the Centre and is enhanced with imagery from recent events and the fabulous region of Tropical North Queensland.
Ross Steele, General Manager, Cairns Convention Centre, said, “It has been a busy and exciting time for the Centre with the recent refurbishment, 20th birthday celebrations and now the delivery of a fresh new look. Most importantly, this has all happened amidst a full calendar of events for our team that will continue well into 2017.”
